Opensoft Systems were chosen to implement the new historian owing to their wealth of experience in integrating automation software across fast-moving process operations.
Opensoft recommended Wonderwares’ data historian, lending itself well to real-time process analysis required by the site.
The system links seamlessly to the sites Kepware I/O server providing a real-time data stream across the plants dairy facility. The historian provides valuable process reporting across the sites production facility, used to monitor and maintain product quality and drive process improvements.
Meadow Foods’ Group Engineering Manager commented: “Installing the historian to capture our production data was a key priority for our business. We needed a tool that allowed us to understand after the event issues across our plant. Opensoft installed the historian with minimal ease and aligned the reports to our needs, very well. The historian is an extremely useful tool to understanding plant problems. It allows us to drill down to see what actually caused a particular issue long after it has occurred. Any manufacturer wanting to monitor the efficiency of their production operations should consider having a historian implemented”.
Opensoft Systems Director Marc Bedford adds: "We are pleased the installation is delivering real value to Meadow Foods business. The system is built on a solid foundation which will allow the business to extend the capabilities of the system across other areas of their manufacturing facility in the future."
